2008 Half Marathon

16th November, 11:00 AM

Following the success of Buchlyvie's first half marathon last year, entries are now open at www.entrycentral.com for this year's half marathon. The run takes place on Sunday 16th November at 11:00 AM and starts in Montgomery Place. The entry has been limited this year to 250 and the sooner you book your slot the cheaper it will be.

The course is out and back along the old railway track to Aberfoyle. It is probably the flattest half in Scotland with 95% off road on fire track and tarmac path. There will be medals for all finishers, category prizes and refreshments served in the village hall at the finish.

This is a small and well organised event with a friendly atmosphere for both runners and supporters. If you are thinking of running your first half marathon this is the one to do. It may be a little muddy in places, but a great course for winter training. The race is run under UK Athletic Rules and is a Scottish Athletics Permit event.

Where all proceeds go

All of the proceeds from the half marathon go to the Andrew Clark Trust, a British charity which helps poor children in Myanmar with education and healthcare.

2/3rds of the proceeds from 10k also go to the Andrew Clark Trust, and 1/3rd goes to benefit the community in Buchylvie.
