Buchlyvie 10K 2013

SMALL IS BEAUTIFUL! START THE YEAR WELL!

The Buchlyvie 10k is an annual event held in January. Our village has a population of about 500 and we'd like to make it 700 for the day! We are in West Stirlingshire, on the edge of the National Park, so we have stunning scenery for our 10k. Most of the village is involved, running, stewarding, running the tea stall, cheering and working in the 2 pubs and 2 coffee shops. We raise money for our village hall and the Andrew Clark Trust, which sponsors children in Myramar.

Our race is on 3rd March starting at the Primary School. Its an out and back race (with one hill) we use Station Rd and the disused railway line. This provides a soft and occasionally muddy track although the surface is very much improved this year. As the track is flat and straight this race is a great start to the year and often gets great times.

There is a prizegiving after the event and race times will be available online at winning ways.

  • Entry on the day will be £15
  • Runners must be 16 or over on the day
  • Registration will be in the village hall on Main St from 11am onwards the race starts at 1.30pm at the Primary School

There is limited parking in the village on Station Rd and in the layby so if you can share transport, please do so. There will be refreshments available in the hall but all belongings are left at owners risk.
